At our Maidenhead wart removal clinic, we remove skin tags in a safe, straightforward procedure. To remove the tag, we use cryotherapy – a freezing process that involves using nitrous oxide to freeze the skin tag, which cuts off its blood supply and effectively kills it. Our preferred option, it is quick, requires no special preparation and is painless. On occasion, we might decide to use a laser instead if our nurses assess that as the better option for our client. Some people may be prone to developing skin tags and so offer multiple skin tag removal in one session. It’s important to remember that, while skin tags look like warts, they are not contagious. When removed, they do not grow back.
How does the skin tag removal process work?
Your skin tag will be examined by our nursing staff to make sure it can be removed. They usually are, but we do want to ensure that there are no further complications down the line. Following the approval from the nurse, they will apply nitrous oxide to the skin with a precision tool. This will freeze the stalk and cut off blood supply, killing it over the next few days. While painless, you might feel a tingling sensation around the treatment area.
In the days after treatment, your tag will darken, dry out and fall off, leaving a dark patch of skin that will vanish in a few days. You may resume your regular skincare routine once the area has returned to usual.
