SAFE, CLINICAL SKIN TAG REMOVAL
Skin tag removal is a simple and safe procedure that we offer at the Hull wart removal clinic. Cryotherapy, which involves freezing the skin tag with chilled nitrous oxide to cut off its blood supply and effectively kill it, is used to remove the tag. This is our preferred method because it is quick, doesn’t call for any additional preparation, and causes our patients no discomfort. However, if our nurses believe using a laser is a better option in some cases, we may decide to use one instead.
We provide multiple skin tag removals during the procedure because some people may be more prone to developing skin tags.
Although skin tags resemble warts, it’s important to keep in mind that they are not contagious and once removed, they won’t come back.
How does the skin tag removal process work?
Your skin tag will be examined by a member of our nursing team to see whether it may be removed. Most of the time, they will be, but it’s crucial to double-check to avoid future complications.
One of our nurses will administer the nitrous oxide to the skin tag stalk using a fine instrument that resembles a pen. Its blood supply will be cut off as a result, which will eventually cause it to pass away. You can get a slight tingling sensation around the treated region even though this procedure is painless.
Your skin tag will become darker and drier in the days after your treatment until it eventually just slips off. When it happens, you will often be left with a darker patch of skin in its stead. This is not a cause for concern and will go away in a few days. It is advised to delay starting your regular skincare routine until the skin has recovered to its normal tone.
