SAFE, CLINICAL SKIN TAG REMOVAL
One of the most popular procedures we offer at our East Yorkshire clinic is skin tag removal – this is a simple and safe procedure which involves one of our expert nurses removing the skin tag via freezing (this process is called cryotherapy) or by using a laser. We find that these two options are the most convenient for our clients.
Skin tags may often resemble warts which causes confusion. It’s important to remember that skin tags, unlike warts, are not contagious and won’t grow back once removed. It’s also quite common for people to have several skin tags; if this is the case, you can have all of them removed during your visit.
How Wart removal clinic can help:
The first step of the process is to check whether the skin tag is suitable for removal. In most cases, it will be. Once our nurses approve the removal of the skin tag, the procedure will begin. The nurse will freeze the stalk of the skin tag using nitrous oxide. This will stop blood flow to the skin tag, causing it to slowly wither away until it dies and simply falls off.
If the skin tag is large or oddly shaped, the nurse may have to apply the nitrous oxide a few times during the treatment. The procedure is painless although you may feel a slight tingling sensation during and for a few hours after the procedure.
After the cryotherapy treatment, the skin tag will darken and begin to dry out. Within a few days, it should simply fall off, leaving a small dark spot in its place. This is perfectly normal and will go away in a few days if cared for properly. We urge you to restrain from using your normal skincare products until the spot returns back to your normal hue.
Should you wish to discuss the procedure with our skin tag removal team, feel free to contact our East Yorkshire clinic where our nurses are more than happy to help.
