How does the skin tag removal process work?
Upon your arrival at our clinic, your skin tag will be reviewed by one of our nurses to check it can be removed. Most of the time, tags can be removed, but it’s paramount for us to check to ensure we avoid future problems.
Using a pen like precision tool, our nurse will apply nitrous oxide to the tag’s stalk. The nitrous oxide cuts off blood supply, freezes the tag and essentially kills it. You may experience a soft tingling sensation around the treatment area, but treatment is painless.
In the days following treatment, the treated tag will become darker and drier, falling off in its entirety. When it does fall off, it leaves behind a darker patch of skin. Not a cause for concern, this will go away in days. We advise you to hold off re-starting regular skincare in this area until your skin has returned to its usual tone.
